Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice in Irvine, California. This permanent opportunity is well suited for someone with at least three years of experience who is confident managing case materials, preparing litigation documents, and assisting attorneys through all phases of civil matters. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in construction defect and/or insurance defense work, along with excellent organizational judgment, legal writing ability, and technical proficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in civil litigation matters by organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate records throughout the life of each case.
- Prepare, revise, and file legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other case-related materials.
- Conduct legal and factual research to assist with case strategy, motion practice, and ongoing matter development.
- Create page-line summaries, assemble exhibits, and help coordinate materials needed for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial.
- Assist with drafting motions in limine and other pretrial documents while ensuring compliance with court rules and filing requirements.
- Use case management and office software to manage correspondence, calendars, document production, and litigation workflows efficiently.
- Collaborate with attorneys and internal team members to support timely case progression and high-quality client service.
- Meet billable work expectations and contribute consistently to a fast-paced litigation environment, with eligibility for a monthly bonus tied to approved billed hours.
- Work primarily on-site in Irvine, California, with the option to work from home one designated day per week, subject to team guidelines and advance approval for any changes. Requirements
- At least 3 years of paralegal experience supporting litigation matters in a law firm environment.
- Background in construction defect litigation and/or insurance defense is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to draft pleadings, discovery documents, and other litigation support materials with accuracy and professionalism.
- Experience performing legal research and writing in support of attorneys and active case files.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as legal tools such as Lexis Form Builder and case management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Paralegal certificate from an approved program is required.
