We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Paralegal to become the first hire on our expanding legal team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has hands-on experience with trademark prosecution, USPTO filings, and intellectual property support. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, solutions-oriented, and excited about helping build systems and processes alongside the firm as it continues to grow. This position will begin as a remote contractor role with the opportunity to transition into a long-term full-time position for the right candidate. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and file trademark applications with the USPTO Draft and assist with responses to USPTO Office Actions Conduct preliminary trademark searches and monitor filings Assist with copyright filings and related IP matters Maintain docketing systems, deadlines, and filing calendars Communicate with clients regarding filing requirements and status updates Organize and maintain electronic client files and records Assist with preparing engagement documents and legal correspondence Support the attorney with legal administrative tasks and workflow management Help build internal systems and processes for the firm's IP practice Potentially assist in leading or managing future IP paralegal support staff as the firm grows Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in intellectual property law Direct experience filing trademark applications and responding to USPTO Office Actions is strongly preferred Familiarity with copyright filings and IP portfolio management Experience with tech, commercial, or SaaS contracts is a plus, but not required Strong understanding of USPTO procedures and deadlines Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Leadership mindset with the ability to take initiative and solve problems proactively Comfortable working in a remote environment with minimal supervision Position Details Remote contractor position Approximately 20-35 hours per week

Compensation:
