Job Description

Franchise Paralegal Reports To:
General Counsel Location:
Remote About Extraordinary Brands Extraordinary Brands is a dynamic, multi-brand franchisor supporting a growing portfolio of leading boutique fitness and wellness brands, with five current brands and approximately 250 locations open or in development across the country. Our shared services model — spanning Legal, Franchise Development, Operations, Marketing, and Finance — fuels scalable growth while preserving what makes each brand unique. We're a growing organization with an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture, and we're actively expanding into additional boutique fitness and wellness concepts. Position Overview The Franchise Paralegal is a pivotal, highly visible role sitting at the intersection of Legal, Franchise Development, Operations, Marketing, and Finance. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this person will become Extraordinary Brands' central hub for franchise administration — the go-to resource that franchisees, brand teams, and leadership rely on for accurate records, clear answers, and dependable follow-through. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role for someone who thrives on variety, takes ownership without being asked twice, and enjoys finding creative solutions to imperfect, sometimes messy situations. The Franchise Paralegal will lead the full implementation and administration of FranConnect across all franchise locations in our system. Along with core franchise administration duties, the Franchise Paralegal will provide direct legal-adjacent support to the General Counsel by preparing Franchise Agreements and related documents, assisting with Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), drafting and maintaining agreement templates, providing support on litigation and corporate governance matters, and integrating newly acquired brands' records and systems into our infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines paralegal-level attention to detail and drafting ability with a genuine customer-service mentality, strong organizational instincts, and comfort operating amid ambiguity in a fast-growing, multi-brand environment.
This is a career-building opportunity:
as Extraordinary Brands continues expanding into new boutique fitness and wellness brands, the successful candidate will have real runway to grow — whether toward brand leadership or operational roles, or deeper within the legal department. Key Responsibilities Franchise Administration & FranConnect Implementation Serve as the organization's point person for FranConnect, owning full implementation and rollout across all five brands and 200+ locations. Clean up, standardize, and migrate existing franchise data and files into FranConnect, building scalable processes so records stay accurate and current going forward. Continuously evaluate and improve franchise administration workflows, systems, and reporting as the organization scales. Legal & General Counsel Support Provide direct, day-to-day support to the General Counsel on a wide range of legal-adjacent tasks and projects. Assist with the preparation, updating, and distribution of Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), including coordinating state registration and renewal filings and maintaining compliance calendars. Draft and help refine franchise agreements, amendments, addenda, default and termination notices, and other franchise-related documents; continually hone and improve template libraries. Coordinate with outside counsel and state regulators as needed on compliance matters. Records Management & Organization Audit and reorganize existing franchise files and legal records, creating clean, scalable, well-documented filing systems and retention protocols. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of franchise legal and administrative records across all brands. Respond to internal and external requests for franchise-related documents and information, including lender documentation, securitization audits, and SBA items. New Brand Diligence & Integration Support due diligence on prospective new brand acquisitions. Lead the integration of newly acquired brands' franchise records, agreements, and systems into FranConnect and the broader company infrastructure. Cross-Functional Business Support Act as a trusted, responsive resource across Franchise Development, Operations, Marketing, and Finance — supporting a wide variety of tasks that touch nearly every part of the business. Build strong working relationships throughout the organization; be known as the person who tracks things down, follows up, and gets it right. Bring a proactive, customer-service mentality to every interaction with franchisees, brand teams, and leadership. Process Improvement & Special Projects Spot inefficiencies and gaps before they become problems, and bring creative, practical solutions to the table. Take on special projects as assigned by the General Counsel, adapting quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-growing organization. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Paralegal certification, legal assistant training, or equivalent experience preferred; Notary Public a plus. Experience 3+ years of experience in franchise administration, paralegal work, legal operations, or a related administrative/legal support role; franchise industry experience strongly preferred. Prior experience with FranConnect or a similar franchise management, CRM, or contract lifecycle management platform is a plus — but not required. What matters most is the ability to quickly learn new software and become the go-to expert on it. Experience drafting or managing legal or contract documentation preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills — you catch what others miss and keep complex information straight. Strong writing and drafting ability, with comfort working from and improving legal templates and agreements. A genuine customer-service mentality and the interpersonal skills to work effectively with people across every level and function of the business. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resourceful — a self-starter who identifies problems and brings creative solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do. Comfortable managing multiple, varied priorities at once in a fast-paced, growing environment. Team player who is adaptable, coachable, and eager to grow with the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness and ability to learn new software and systems quickly. Additional Requirements Occasional travel may be required for training, brand meetings, or diligence on new brands. Strong alignment with Extraordinary Brands' entrepreneurial, growth-oriented culture and values.
Significant room for growth:
successful candidates may progress toward brand leadership or operational roles, or deeper opportunities within the legal department, as the company continues to expand into new boutique fitness and wellness brands. All candidates are subject to a criminal background screening as a condition of employment. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Extraordinary Brands is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
