  • 6/21/2026 Key Responsibilities The Office of the Utah Attorney General has an immediate opening for a Paralegal in the Justice Division supporting the Public Assistance Fraud and Unemployment Insurance Fraud prosecution teams.
This position provides direct support to prosecutors handling complex fraud investigations and criminal prosecutions involving misuse of public assistance programs and unemployment benefits throughout the State of Utah. Paralegals in this section work closely with attorneys, investigators, victim agencies, and partner state agencies to support all phases of criminal prosecution. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by protecting public resources and serving the citizens of Utah through effective prosecution of fraud-related offenses. Applicants should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced legal environment. Strong paralegal and legal support skills are required, including experience with legal document preparation, case management, court filings, records management, and communication with courts, attorneys, agencies, and the public. Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills are highly preferred, as this position regularly works with partner agencies and professionals throughout the State of Utah. The successful applicant must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
Qualifications Preferred qualifications include:
Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies (program completion at accredited institution consisting of 60 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours, with 15 hours of substantive legal courses); Bachelor's Degree in related field; or NALA, NFPA, or NALS certifications. Experience working in a legal office, prosecutor's office, or government agency Strong paralegal or litigation support experience Familiarity with criminal court procedures and legal filings Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines Experience interacting professionally with government agencies and the public About the Role Location
