Job Description

Under the direction of the Illinois Supreme Court, the ARDC registers and supports attorneys, produces and delivers innovative education and outreach programs, and provides restorative services. Through thorough investigations of complaints and fair proceedings, we address allegations of attorney misconduct and unauthorized practice of law. We ensure accountability while also advocating for those harmed by misconduct. Currently, the ARDC is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated bilingual (Spanish-Speaking) Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys, investigators, and professional staff and members of the public. The successful candidate will provide paralegal and case-support services while serving as an important resource for Spanish-speaking individuals who interact with the ARDC. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, sound judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Key Responsibilities Provide bilingual support in English and Spanish to attorneys, investigators, complainants, respondents, witnesses, and members of the public. Assist with the review, organization, and analysis of case-related documents and records. Prepare correspondence, memoranda, investigative summaries, and other legal documents. Conduct legal and factual research using online databases and other resources. Gather, organize, and maintain evidence, records, and case files. Communicate with courts, law offices, governmental agencies, and third parties to obtain information and records. Monitor case deadlines and track case progress to ensure timely handling of matters. Translate documents and interpret conversations, interviews, and meetings as needed. Assist with witness interviews, complaint intake, and information gathering. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Support attorneys during hearings, meetings, and other proceedings, as required. Qualifications and Desired Skills Bachelor's degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, criminal justice or related field A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or similar role Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills Professional-level proficiency in both English and Spanish, including strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people High attention to detail, organization, and time management Expert-level proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and case management systems Commitment to ARDC's mission and valuesThe ARDC is committed to a culture of diversity and inclusion. Salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, with a targeted salary range of $60,000 to $75,000.
