The ideal candidate will have a solid litigation background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This dual role paralegal/legal assistant position will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm as well as assisting attorneys with scheduling and managing calendars, drafting routine documents, finalizing pleadings and other documents, filing documents with courts and other administrative agencies, managing case files, and providing paralegal and administrative legal support in the day-to-day operations of the Labor and Employment defense team. Responsibilities Manage case files Prepare and review legal documents such as employment agreements, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Assist attorneys with legal research. Conduct thorough document review and legal research utilizing LexisNexis and other legal research tools to support case development. Perform administrative duties including filing, proofreading, transcription, and managing incoming calls with professional phone etiquette. Assist with client interviews and gather pertinent information to support attorneys' case preparations. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while providing administrative support to attorneys. Requirements Proven paralegal experience and/or legal assistant with billing experience in a law office setting. Strong knowledge of labor and employment law and litigation procedures. Familiarity with legal research tools/platforms Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional writing skills for drafting documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities. Strong research skills complemented by attention to detail in document review and data entry tasks. Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a paralegal and/or litigation legal assistant, preferably in a labor and employment law setting. Knowledge of Florida litigation practices, legal terminology, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Familiarity with court filing procedures, deadlines, and e-filing Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation, calendaring and scheduling. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal information with discretion. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
