Real Estate Paralegal Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak LLP - New York State Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our team on a 3+ year contract supporting the residential and commercial real estate needs of one of our municipal clients. Real estate paralegal experience is required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal looking for the stability of a long-term engagement with the flexibility of working from home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in New York real estate law and transactions , with proven experience supporting attorneys through all phases of residential and commercial real estate matters. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your work, managing multiple matters and deadlines, and working independently while remaining responsive and connected to the legal team. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, proactive, and detail-oriented —someone who understands that in real estate, the details matter and deadlines are not suggestions. Duties Advance, schedule and conduct residential (primarily) and commercial (occasionally) real estate transactions including sales, purchases, deeds, leases, permits, licenses, land contracts, and closings Update/prepare and provide sales contracts to approved buyers monthly Monitor sales contracts, title reports, buyer follow-up Prepare contract modifications/extensions Prepare and review closing documents Update weekly sales tracking reports Coordinate with title companies, municipal departments, and the County Clerk to facilitate recordings, clear title, and ensure compliance with local requirements Assist in drafting and recording restrictive covenants, use restrictions, and related post-closing obligations Advise and support real estate enforcement and compliance actions What We Offer
  • Rate $30-$40/hr.
(depending on experience) 3+ year contract offering long-term stability Work-from-home flexibility Work with an experienced and collaborative Real Estate legal team Flexibility and autonomy while remaining connected to the firm
Requirements:
  • Paralegal certificate, bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of real estate and related experience, including a background in real estate transactions, loans, sales/acquisitions, leasing and development, with a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Must be an independent, proactive, organized and diligent worker and able to work with minimal direction
  • Must be able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle voluminous workflow, work under tight deadlines, balance multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Must be able to create positive working relationships and effectively communicate with all parties in the transaction
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
