Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support attorney, A. Tyler Whitaker and staff by managing administrative tasks, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth office operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings. Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents, correspondence, and reports with precision and attention to detail. Handle incoming calls using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, directing inquiries appropriately. Maintain organized filing systems—both electronic and physical—to ensure quick retrieval of case files and documents. Assist with data entry tasks using productivity software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and specialized legal management tools like QuickBooks for billing or accounting purposes. Support client communication efforts by responding promptly to inquiries and providing excellent customer service at the front desk. Manage office supplies inventory, coordinate office management activities, and perform general clerical duties to keep the office running smoothly. Requirements Proven experience in an office environment, preferably within a legal or professional setting. Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), spreadsheets, data entry, and document proofreading. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. Exceptional phone etiquette skills with experience operating multi-line phone systems for professional communication. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse client needs effectively. Familiarity with legal terminology, front desk responsibilities, calendar management, and client communication is preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high accuracy in clerical tasks. Technical proficiency in office management tools such as QuickBooks or similar software is a plus. $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
