Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & De Los Santos P.C. is a law firm devoted to serving public education. We have been working in partnership with leaders in public education since 1983 and strive to make a difference in the boardroom, the courtroom and, most importantly, the classroom. We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Paralegal to join our Amarillo office to support the high-volume special education practice that serves clients throughout Texas. Critical skills include e-filing at all levels, case management, research and the ability to handle a varied docket. Candidates must possess the necessary skills to coordinate with special education team by providing assistance such as scheduling, drafting correspondence, pleadings and other legal documents, and preparing documents for trial. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal or relevant experience in a public school setting. Extensive experience in litigation matters is a plus. Hours are 8:30 am -5:30 M-F. Note that we have returned to working in the office and all firm support staff are required to work on-site. Candidates must have excellent organizational, word processing, professional level people skills and be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with great focus in an efficient and effective manner. Excellent proofing, editing and writing/communication skills are a must, as well as high proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience with Nitro is a plus.
