Role Description The Immigration Legal Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas, TX. This position supports attorneys with day-to-day immigration casework, including preparing and organizing legal documents, forms, and filings for various immigration matters. Responsibilities include maintaining case files, managing deadlines, scheduling client appointments, and communicating with clients to collect information and provide case updates. The role also involves data entry, document translation where applicable, coordinating with government agencies, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time. The Immigration Legal Assistant collaborates closely with the legal team to help deliver efficient, high-quality client service. Qualifications Knowledge of law and immigration procedures, with the ability to understand and follow legal guidelines. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including forms, affidavits, and supporting documentation. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Experience with administrative assistance, including scheduling, file management, and data entry in a legal or office setting. Background or training as a legal assistant, paralegal, or related role supporting attorneys. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with common office software and case management systems; bilingual skills (especially Spanish/English) are highly beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework or certification in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
Requirements:
Bilingual:
Fluent in English and Spanish (required). Minimum 1 year of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in immigration law. Strong knowledge of immigration laws and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
