Job Description:
The Legal Assistant supports attorneys and paralegals with legal and administrative tasks, including legal research, drafting and reviewing documents, client communication, immigration application preparation, file maintenance, document uploads, and case management system updates. This role will support the T-Visa team and help ensure cases continue moving efficiently through the legal process. The Legal Assistant will support the T-Visa team by assisting attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, client communication, document management, and immigration application support.
Essential duties include:
Conduct legal research and assist with case analysis. Compile, proofread, revise, and format legal documents and reports. Obtain relevant information from clients, agencies, and other organizations. Prepare and organize case information and supporting documentation. Maintain and update databases, tracking systems, and case management platforms. Upload documents, incoming mail, and case-related evidence. Respond to case-related inquiries and communicate effectively with clients, teammates, USCIS, and other immigration agencies. Maintain organized and updated case files. Attend meetings and support team workflow needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Assist with submissions and wet signatures processes. This position requires bilingual Spanish/English communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, time management, confidentiality, and proficiency with Google Suite. Immigration law or litigation experience is preferred but not required.
