Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, bilingual (Spanish/English) Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience, with a strong focus on USCIS casework. This role is ideal for someone experienced in preparing and managing immigration petitions and applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely filing. You will work closely with attorneys to support a high-volume caseload, primarily involving USCIS filings, while contributing to an organized and efficient case management process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and file USCIS applications and petitions, including adjustment of status, family-based petitions, naturalization, DACA, U visas, waivers, and SIJS cases. Draft supporting documents such as affidavits, personal statements, cover letters, and RFEs (Requests for Evidence) responses. Review and organize supporting documentation to ensure compliance with USCIS requirements and filing standards. Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and information for USCIS filings. Track case progress, filing deadlines, biometrics appointments, and USCIS correspondence. Communicate with government agencies, including USCIS, regarding case status, RFEs, and procedural follow-ups. Maintain accurate and organized case files, both physical and electronic. Conduct basic legal research related to immigration forms, eligibility requirements, and USCIS policy updates. Assist attorneys with case strategy by preparing summaries and case overviews. Provide translation review and general administrative support as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish Solid understanding of USCIS forms, processes, and documentation requirements Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong client service and interpersonal skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required Associate degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred Paralegal certificate preferred Minimum of 3 years of immigration experience, with a strong emphasis on USCIS casework preferred

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
