Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented bilingual individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant in the Litigation department. This role is perfect for someone looking to start their career in the legal field. Legal experience is a plus. We provide on-the-job training with opportunities for growth and advancement within the firm. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the efficient functioning of our law firm by assisting paralegals with various administrative tasks, including running errands, filing documents, completing tasks, and computer work. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional legal environment.
Duties:
Assist paralegals with legal work such as drafting, compiling packets, and calling clients File packets in a timely manner Visit detained clients Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office Run errands as required, including trips to the courthouse, client meetings, and other local destinations (a car and valid driver's license are essential). Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries Manage and maintain schedules, appointments, and calendars Coordinate and schedule meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and data analysis Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing
Qualifications:
Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is nonnegotiable Professional and punctual demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Proven experience as an administrative assistant or relevant role is a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
