Job Description

Job Overview Seeking full-time or part-time (minimum 6 hours/day) legal assistant/paralegal to work directly with one of our attorneys. Must be bilingual in Spanish/English and able to work Monday-Thursday (9.5-hour shifts with a 30 minute lunch, or negotiable part-time hours). We require someone with a minimum of 2 years experience specifically in immigration law who is detail-oriented, professional, thorough, compassionate, willing to follow directions and learn new tasks, and has excellent writing skills. Applicants must be able to manage high intensity situations, handle a large caseload, and multi-task with professionalism.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Orient newly-retained clients on application requirements
  • Fill out immigration forms based on information provided by clients and the attorney
  • Confirm all application packets are complete for submission, including all required evidence
  • Answer client inquiries about their cases, being careful not to give legal advice
  • Communicate with government agencies on behalf of the attorney
Requirements:
  • 2 years experience as an immigration paralegal/case manager/legal assistant
  • High school diploma
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, including fast typing
  • Proficient in using computer software applications for word processing and spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think and act independently to find solutions. Must manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 8am-5:30pm or 8:30am-6pm. (Part-time hours negotiable)
