Lynchburg-area law firm seeking full-time legal assistant for a fast-paced and demanding environment in Family Law.
Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney's calendar and scheduling Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings, notices, subpoenas, discovery, and other documents as assigned. Communicate with clients, other office staff, other attorney's offices, Courts and related parties. Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems. Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and smailing bills. Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Qualifications for Legal Assistant Maintain confidentiality of client matters. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's degree in paralegal studies, or a paralegal certificate, preferred,. 1-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal preferred. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Adobe software preferred. Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
