Job Overview Onias Law, P.L. is a boutique business and litigation firm with offices in McLean and Fort Lauderdale. We provide white-glove, high-touch service to businesses and federal contractors in commercial disputes, appeals, employment defense, and outside general counsel matters. You'll work directly with the managing partner, and your experience will shape how the office runs. Have you spent your career in a large law firm, a government legal office, or the courts, and you're not ready to stop working? Onias Law, P.L. is looking for an experienced civil litigation paralegal who wants meaningful, steady work 3 days a week, without billable-hour quotas, office politics, or a daily commute into D.C. Duties Design and implement a filing system (paper and electronic) for active and closed matters, then maintain it Draft pleadings, motions, notices, and proposed orders for attorney review Prepare and respond to discovery: interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, privilege logs, and document production Calendar and track court deadlines Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel under attorney direction: scheduling hearings, coordinating depositions, sending routine correspondence Electronically file documents in state and federal courts, including remote filing in Florida matters Requirements Substantial civil litigation paralegal experience, from a law firm, a government legal office (federal, state, or local), or a court Hands-on experience drafting discovery and motions The organizational instincts to build a filing system from scratch Familiarity with legal research protocols and systems Clear, professional writing Comfort with Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, SharePoint) Discretion with confidential client information Willingness to learn Florida civil procedure and e-filing Familiarity with PACER Join us as a vital part of our legal team where your expertise will drive impactful results!
