Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a role wherein you will also be expected to perform typical receptionist duties such as answering phone calls, setting appointments, and taking payments. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our criminal and traffic defense attorney and assist with various tasks related to document management, client management, and correspondence with courts and prosecutors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a passion for the legal field.Duties:
- Assist attorneys with legal administrative tasks, including drafting and editing documents and correspondence
- Manage document management systems and ensure all files are organized and up-to-date
- Keep in communication with clients with updates and to answer any questions
- Request documents from courts; request Discovery from prosecuting attorneys; send letters to clients regarding court dates
- Track all document requests and documents received and follow up on documents that have not yet been received
- Maintain calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings

- Continually check for updates on the court's website and match their information against our firm's calendar and correspondence.
- Perform data entry tasks to update case information in the firm's database
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients, potential clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficient in using document management systems and maintaining hard copy files
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
