Job Description

Michael G. Malaier, Chapter 13 Standing Trustee for the Western District of Washington, seeks a Case Administrator for his office located in Ruston. The Standing Trustee is appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice and operates as a public trust. Accordingly, all applicants must consent to a 3rd party background check. The Trustee offers an excellent benefits package and fosters a highly-skilled, energized, and empowered workforce. The Chapter 13 Standing Trustee currently qualifies as an eligible employer for purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. A Case Administrator handles approximately 600 Chapter 13 cases, processing payments, documents, and debtor correspondence. S/he works closely with staff attorneys to prosecute motions and/or seek other relief from the bankruptcy court. A strong candidate has 3+ years of experience working in the legal field, writes crisply and coherently, and is capable of high-volume, deadline-driven work. Given the nature of the position, the successful candidate should expect to work on-site and may be required to accompany the Trustee or his lawyers in court.
