A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Experience with Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
High school degree or equivalent.2+ years of experience as a paralegal or in a related area, ideally healthcare or insurance preferred.
Associate's degree in secretarial sciences or business/office management, or certificate in paralegal studies desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review correspondence and legal requests; gather related information and documents; assist with draft responses.Gather and perform initial review of information and documents for litigation and other legal matters, including discovery documents and spreadsheet data; prepare summaries for review.
Communicate in a timely and professional manner with other teams, as well as external contacts.
Track deadlines; assist in maintaining department calendar and in meeting deadlines.
Create and maintain organized files for the department.
Timely complete projects to support legal matters and department members.
Assist with legal research as directed.
