CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Not Listed, MA Apply The City of Woonsocket Rhode Island is conducting a search for a Code Enforcement Officer. Working under the direction of the Senior Code Enforcement Officer, the Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for carrying out inspections as well as investigating violations of the local ordinances and the RI Property Management Code. The person in this position will be able to determine the presence of health hazards, nuisance violations, unsafe building conditions and blighted property conditions. The person in this position must communicate code violations, property conditions and required corrective actions with property owners, City residents, real estate agents, contractors and department personnel. A high school diploma, or GED equivalent along with four (4) years of experience in a construction field (i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry) is required. College training in the above-named field may be substituted for experience. Must be knowledgeable of the principles and practices for enforcement of regulatory codes pertaining to municipal law. Must possess a valid driver?s license with a satisfactory driving record.
