Hiring Immediately About the Opportunity A Parking Enforcement Officer is needed to support Transportation & Parking Services at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. This role plays an important part in maintaining safe, organized, and efficient parking operations across campus while providing exceptional customer service to students, employees, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, being active throughout the workday, interacting with the public, and contributing to a positive campus experience. What You'll Be Doing Patrol assigned parking lots and garages by foot and vehicle to ensure compliance with university parking regulations. Monitor parking areas to maintain safe, orderly, and efficient parking operations. Assist with vehicle booting and relocation activities as required. Inspect parking meters, signs, and enforcement equipment; report damage, vandalism, or maintenance needs. Support campus operations by assisting with the setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices, including barricades, cones, and signage. Provide parking and traffic support during special events, construction projects, and university activities. Utilize handheld enforcement devices and computer systems to perform daily assignments and record enforcement actions. Serve as a professional representative of Transportation & Parking Services by educating customers on parking permits, regulations, payment options, and parking locations. Deliver courteous and professional customer service while interacting with the campus community and visitors. Schedule Full-time temporary position Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Occasional evening and weekend hours required based on operational needs, campus events, and special activities Assignment expected to continue through December 13, 2026

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license with a good driving record and ability to operate state vehicles. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable using technology, including handheld enforcement devices and computer systems. Minimum of 2-3 years of customer service experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable attendance and professionalism.
