Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for monitoring and enforcing parking regulations throughout the Borough of Carnegie. This role ensures compliance with metered, permit, and time‑limited parking areas; maintains parking equipment; and supports basic Borough operations as needed. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the elements and with the public.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Parking Enforcement Patrol metered parking lots and on street parking to identify unpaid vehicles. Issue parking tickets to vehicles in violation of meter or payment requirements. Verify that vehicles parked in permit lots or designated permit spaces have a permit. Monitor parking activity throughout the Business District to ensure orderly use of spaces. Enforce 2‑hour parking limits and other time‑restricted zones. 2. Equipment Maintenance Check all parking kiosks and meters to confirm they are functioning properly. Serve as a point of contact for reporting or addressing equipment issues. Troubleshoot and replace malfunctioning or damaged parking machinery as able. Empty coin meters and kiosks and deliver collected funds to the Borough Building. 3. Miscellaneous Duties Deliver Borough mail, packets, or materials as needed. Assist the office staff and/or the Police Department with routine support tasks when requested including crossing guard duties. Schedule may vary between the hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
