Overview Join our dynamic team as a Parking Enforcement Officer and play a vital role in maintaining orderly and safe parking environments within the city. This energetic position involves patrolling designated areas, ensuring parking regulations are followed, and providing excellent customer service to the public. As a key part of our transportation and safety initiatives, you will help keep city streets accessible and secure for all residents and visitors. This paid position offers an engaging outdoor work environment where your proactive approach makes a real difference every day. Duties Patrol assigned city streets and parking lots on foot or using standard passenger cars to monitor parking activities and enforce regulations. Issue parking citations to vehicles that violate posted signs or parking laws, ensuring compliance and safety. Use parking enforcement technology, including handheld devices and digital systems, to record violations accurately and efficiently. Skills Strong report writing skills to document daily activities, violations, and incidents accurately. Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely in various weather conditions and city environments. Knowledge of parking regulations, city street navigation, and enforcement technology systems. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with the public while enforcing rules firmly yet courteously. Outdoor work experience that demonstrates comfort working in varying weather conditions over extended periods. Basic math skills for accurately calculating fines or citations when needed. Conflict management abilities to handle tense situations calmly and professionally while maintaining safety for all parties involved.
