JCAPS Juvenile Intake and Assessment Systems Officer 30 Plaza Drive, Liberal, KS 67901
Full-time Full-time Job Summary:
We are looking for a Juvenile Intake and Assessment Systems Officer to join our Juvenile Corrections and Probations Services team. In this role you will evaluate, interview, and assess juveniles entering the corrections system to determine appropriate placement and services.
Qualifications:
Proven experience working with youth in corrections, probation, or social services setting. Knowledge of juvenile justice principles, laws, and procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to make accurate assessments and recommendations based on individual needs and circumstances.
Responsibilities:
Conduct intake interviews and assessments with juveniles and entering the corrections system. Evaluate the needs, risks, and strengths of each individual to develop customized service plans. Collaborate with internal staff, external agencies, and community resources to provide comprehensive support. Monitor progress, behavior, and compliance with court-ordered requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and case notes.
Additional Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Valid driver's license or attainable within 30 days of hire. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends as needed. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
