Pay package discussed upon application Additional info: Position observes Mississippi state holidays What You'll Do Review and conduct initial screenings of Youth Court referrals Gather information and conduct preliminary inquiries about youth and family circumstances Assist in determining appropriate Youth Court actions Communicate effectively with affiants, court staff, law enforcement, and community partners Document all contacts, activities, and decisions accurately and timely Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive juvenile and family information Maintain court-appropriate records and data management Participate in required training, professional development, and quality reviews Travel between assigned court locations within multiple counties as required
What You Need Required:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, or a related field Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Current automobile insurance
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Preferred:
Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information professionally Prior experience in social services, behavioral health, or criminal justice preferred but not mandatory About the Assignment This position supports Mississippi's Youth Court reform initiative, working within a professional court setting to facilitate referrals, conduct preliminary assessments, and ensure accurate documentation.
