A Probation Officer or Correctional Treatment Specialist supervises criminal offenders who have been placed on probation as part of a court sentence. Meets with offenders and families, monitors activities, and checks to see that the terms of the probation are being followed. Arranges social services for the offender such as drug rehab or job training; writes reports and recommendations to the court.

Directly supervises Youth Specialists in daily facilitation of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy Responsible for training, developing and evaluating line staff (Youth Specialists). Enforces facility rules and regulations; monitors and evaluates students' progress. Guides line staff and students in the development of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy Implements the hands on daily operations of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Program and the Juvenile Leadership Academy. Works closely with and coordinates with collateral agencies, school district staff, probation staff and Administrators. Fills in for Site Supervisor as needed overseeing site supervision. Monitors performance of juveniles relating to completion of physical requirements, including motivation day Ensures adherence to safety requirements. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
