Job Description

Taurus Staffing is looking for a Safety Manager in the Calvert, AL area. Need to have OSHA 30 certification. Day and Night Shifts available.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, including detailed reports and documentation
  • Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with management and department heads to develop safety goals and objectives
  • Monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with occupational health standards
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations
  • Manage workers' compensation claims process, including reporting, investigation, and resolution
  • Oversee the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to test effectiveness
Qualifications:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant certification preferred
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs in an industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA requirements
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and processes
  • First aid/CPR certification is a plus
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
