Overview The Assistant Director of Safety, Night Operations is a full-time, hourly ($26-$30/hr) working supervisor who manages overnight safety operations, winter weather responses, and the relief officer bench for Pine Canyon Safety Department in Flagstaff, AZ (includes 16 hours/week on post).

Key Responsibilities:

Night Operations & Weather Management:

Executes the Winter Weather Plan (snowplow/berm coordination, motorist checks), retrieves radar speed data, and manages severe weather/wildfire alerts when daytime staff are off-site.

Span & Shift Oversight:

Oversees shift handoffs, equipment counts, and patrol patterns, steps in for the Director of Safety when off-property, and acts as the night liaison for local police/fire dispatch.

Team & Bench Leadership:

Schedules and manages the Relief Safety Officer bench to cover callouts, coaches Safety Officer IIIs, inspects shift officers, and conducts monthly evacuation exit checks.

Requirements:

Safety Officer III certification or 3+ years of comparable lead experience in safety, public safety, or hospitality. Valid AZ driver's license, clean background check, and strong communication skills. First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 180 days; comfort working alone at night at high elevation (7,000 ft) in severe winter conditions, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
