Job Description

EHS Manager (Environmental Heavy) - Industrial Manufacturing El Monte, CA area (Onsite) $125,000 - $155,000 Why This Role We're hiring an EHS Manager to lead environmental compliance and safety operations at a large, multi-building manufacturing site (~400,000 sq. ft., 400+ employees). This is not just a safety role — they need someone with a strong environmental compliance experience who can ensure the site stays ahead of regulations, avoids fines, and remains audit-ready while also supporting site-wide safety initiatives. If you've worked in industrial, aerospace, chemical, or process manufacturing environments and are comfortable being the go-to person when issues arise — this is a high-impact role with upward leadership visibility. What You'll Be Doing Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for site incidents (injuries, spills, environmental issues) Lead environmental compliance efforts to ensure regulatory adherence (OSHA, AQMD, Fire Dept, sanitation, etc.) Manage and maintain permits, reporting, audits, and regulatory submissions Oversee hazardous waste handling, wastewater, emissions, and chemical processes Conduct and coordinate EHS training programs across all shifts Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to drive safe work practices and compliance improvements Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and risk assessments Support emergency response efforts — including after-hours response when needed Help build and scale the EHS function — with future direct reports (Safety Manager + Hazmat team) Must-Have Bachelor's degree (required) 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments Experience with: Hazardous waste Wastewater / emissions Chemical handling / regulated processes Experience working with regulatory agencies (OSHA, AQMD, etc.) Comfortable being hands-on and visible on the floor Willingness to be available for after-hours incidents when needed Preferred Experience in aerospace, chemical, or process manufacturing Experience with: Furnaces / ovens Thermal oxidizers Resin or coating processes (dip tanks, etc.) Prior leadership or supervisory experience Spanish language skills Schedule & Work Environment Typical hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Exempt / salaried role Realistically 40+ hours/week Occasional early mornings, late evenings, or weekend support depending on site needs Fully onsite role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Interview Process HR Phone Screen Virtual Interview with Director of Manufacturing Engineering Onsite Panel Interview Why You Should Apply High-visibility role with ownership of site-wide EHS compliance Opportunity to build and lead an EHS function Work in a complex, process-driven manufacturing environment Strong compensation + long-term career growth Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of El Monte, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $155000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
