Job Description

The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for supporting and maintaining the facility's Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs and ensuring compliance with company standards, SQF/GFSI requirements, USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, customer requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The FSQA Supervisor works closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, R&D, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Management to ensure that products are manufactured safely, consistently, legally, and according to approved specifications. FSQA Supervisor will be the key point of contact for the USDA, FDA and any customer quality issues or site visits.

1. Minimum 3 years of Food Safety/Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing. 2. Minimum 3 years of experience working under a GFSI-recognized certification program, preferably SQF. 3.
Strong working knowledge of:
  • HACCP
  • GMPs
  • SSOPs
  • FDA food-safety regulations
  • USDA requirements for applicable products
  • FSMA requirements
  • SQF/GFSI
    standards
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Allergen controls
  • Traceability and recall
  • Corrective and preventive actions 4.
Experience participating in regulatory, SQF/GFSI, customer, or third-party audits. 5. Experience investigating food-safety and quality deviations and performing root-cause analysis. 6. Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills. 7. Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, management, regulators, auditors, customers, and suppliers. 8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 10. Ability to make sound decisions and respond quickly when food-safety or quality risks are identified. 11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic QA/documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. 2. HACCP certification. 3. SQF Practitioner training or SQF certification experience. 4. PCQI certification. 5. Experience in a USDA-inspected food-processing facility. 6. Experience with frozen foods, cooked foods, rice/grains, ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat products. 7. Experience managing environmental-monitoring programs in post-lethality or exposed-product areas. 8. Experience supervising QA technicians or sanitation-verification activities. 9. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical and Work Requirements:
  • Ability to work in production, warehouse, refrigerated, freezer, and sanitation environments.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around food-processing equipment and cleaning/sanitation operations.
  • Ability to lift approximately 25-40 pounds when necessary.
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends, evenings, early mornings, or extended hours depending on production, sanitation, audit, or regulatory requirements.

From $80,000.00 per year
