The Safety Supervisor is responsible for providing independent safety oversight, compliance verification, and reporting throughout the duration of the project. The Safety Supervisor works on behalf of the owner or safety consultant to monitor jobsite conditions and contractor practices, while the contractor remains solely responsible for the safety of its own employees and its means and methods of work.

Contract Duration:

This is a 10-12 month contract position, aligned with the duration of the project. Duties and Responsibilities The Safety Supervisor shall: Review contractor Safety Plans, Emergency Response Plans, and required safety documentation prior to the start of work. Verify contractor compliance with all project safety requirements, owner safety standards, applicable OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety procedures. Review and monitor Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Risk Assessments/Safety FMEAs, and Management of Change (MOC) documentation for applicable work activities. Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and Safety Observation Tours to verify implementation of required safety controls. Monitor high-risk activities including, but not limited to:

◦ Confined Space Entry

◦ Working at Heights

◦ Cranes and Rigging

◦ Excavation and Trenching

◦ Electrical Work

◦ Hot Work

◦ Aerial Lifts Verify required permits, certifications, equipment inspections, operator qualifications, and worker training records are maintained and current. Observe daily start-of-shift safety meetings and verify effective worker engagement and hazard communication. Coordinate with contractors and owner representatives to identify, communicate, and resolve safety concerns before work proceeds. Monitor corrective actions and verify timely closure of identified deficiencies. Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development when required. Prepare and distribute routine safety reports summarizing inspections, observations, corrective actions, incident trends, and overall project safety performance. Attend owner, contractor, and project coordination meetings as required to provide safety updates and recommendations. Verify housekeeping, site access control, barricading, emergency preparedness, and PPE compliance throughout the project. Maintain project safety documentation and records required by the owner or contract. Recommend stop-work actions when imminent danger conditions are observed and immediately notify the Owner and Contractor of such conditions. Scope Limitations The Safety Supervisor serves in an advisory and compliance oversight role only. Responsibility for the safety of each contractor's employees, supervision, means and methods of construction, equipment, and regulatory compliance remains solely with the contractor and its subcontractors. The Safety Supervisor does not direct construction operations and does not create an employer-employee relationship with contractor personnel. This role is consistent with the client's safety requirements, which place responsibility for worker safety, work methods, and compliance on the contractor.

Pay:
