An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for directing the strategic approach to managing the environmental impact of an organization on the surrounding area. Responsible for ensuring that the organization has a systematic approach to complying with environmental regulations, such as managing waste or air emissions. Will liaise with directors of other sections of the organization to ensure that strategic goals align with those of the environmental health and safety team.
Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will champion workplace safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations across manufacturing environments. Your expertise will help foster a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, empowering teams to operate efficiently while minimizing risks. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and environmental management systems. Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause analysis to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions. Provide training and development sessions on workplace safety, hazardous materials regulations, emergency response procedures (including CPR and first aid), and environmental compliance. Ensure adherence to environmental regulatory compliance standards such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations and hazardous materials handling protocols. Prepare detailed report writing on safety incidents, inspection findings, and compliance status to inform management decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory/legal compliance standards in production are met consistently. Stay current with updates in environmental health laws, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, and other relevant legal requirements affecting occupational health and safety practices. Experience Proven experience working within manufacturing environments or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety protocols. Demonstrated expertise in environmental health, occupational health, and environmental compliance practices. Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and workers' compensation law is essential. Experience conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, incident investigations, and report writing. Prior involvement in training development & delivery related to EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) topics is highly desirable. Familiarity with environmental management systems and regulatory compliance standards in production environments is preferred. $30.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 20.0 per week
