The Construction Safety Manager will oversee project safety activities, including new hire onboarding, safety training, JHA development and review, field observations, audits, and contractor safety compliance. Certification Contractor Safety Management Experience What You'll Be Doing Provide daily field safety oversight for campus construction activities Conduct new hire safety orientations and onboarding programs Develop, review, and track Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Perform routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments Monitor subcontractor activities and construction operations Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel Lead and attend project safety meetings Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project Technical Knowledge Candidates should have working knowledge of: OSHA Construction Standards Commercial Building Construction Contractor Safety Management Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development Safety TrainingOrientation Programs Hazard RecognitionRisk Assessment Construction AuditingInspections Incident InvestigationCorrective Actions Fall ProtectionElevated Work Aerial LiftsMEWPs Material Handling Operations Multi-Trade Construction Coordination Construction Risk AssessmentMitigation What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate is a hands-on, field-focused safety professional with experience supporting commercial construction projects and large multi-trade workforces.
