Job Description
Position SummaryThe Field Safety & Compliance Specialist is responsible for field-level enforcement of safety and compliance programs across retail stores, gas stations, and operational sites. This role conducts inspections, identifies hazards, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Inspector serves as the companys in-the-field representative for safety, coaching managers and employees, supporting incident investigations, and ensuring that sites address non-compliance promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Inspections & Hazard ControlConduct scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections across all stores, gas stations, car washes, delis, service bays, and warehousesUtilize standardized inspection checklists and maintain accurate documentation of findingsEnsure management performs required safety checklists and maintains proper documentationIdentify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolutionEnsure that assigned locations address any non-compliance with laws or company policyCoaching & TrainingProvide on-the-spot coaching to managers and employees regarding safety practices and complianceDeliver quarterly safety trainings for field employeesPromote safety awareness and serve as a trusted resource for employeesIncident ManagementSupport incident and accident investigations by gathering facts and documentationReview incident reports submitted from assigned locations, ensure appropriate follow-up, and escalate issues to the Safety Manager when neededEscalate serious safety issues to the HR Business Partner; resolve manageable hazards independentlyCompliance VerificationVerify compliance with PPE, fuel handling, food safety, and equipment safety protocolsSupport tracking of licenses, certifications, and credentials for employees in safety- and compliance-critical roles at assigned sitesRecords & ReportingMaintain inspection, incident, and training records for audit readinessGeneralPerform other duties as assignedEducation and Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred2+ years of experience in safety, compliance, or related field preferredKnowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulationsExperience conducting inspections and facilitating employee training a plusAbility to travel regularly to multiple sitesSkill SetStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and take initiative in hazard resolutionAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesProfessionalism, confidentiality, and integrityStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPage Break Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successful perform the essential functions of this position.
