We self-perform with our own crews, and we're growing our in-house engineering team to deliver fully integrated projects. Safety is part of how we build, not a box we check. The Role We're looking for a hands-on Safety Manager who is equally comfortable in a trench and at a desk. You'll run our safety program across active job sites and the office: coaching crews in the field, writing the plans and documentation that keep us compliant, and helping project teams get home safe every day. What You'll Do Conduct regular field inspections, toolbox talks, and jobsite safety audits Serve as a resource on excavation, trenching, shoring, confined space, and traffic control Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and company safety policies Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions Manage OSHA recordkeeping, training records, and compliance documentation Support bid and prequalification submittals (EMR, safety manuals, program documentation) Onboard new hires and subcontractors and deliver safety training Partner with project managers, superintendents, and engineering to build safety into planning and execution What You Bring [4-6]+ years of construction safety experience, with both field and office/program management experience Experience in underground utility, civil, or heavy construction preferred OSHA 30-Hour Construction (required);

OSHA 500

a plus Working knowledge of OSHA 1926, especially excavation/trenching and confined space First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to earn respect from crews and leadership alike Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety documentation systems Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites Preferred CHST, CSP, or ASP (or actively pursuing) Competent Person training (excavation, confined space) Traffic control certification (ATSSA or equivalent) Experience with municipal and public-agency safety requirements Physical Requirements Work in outdoor construction environments, including uneven terrain, variable weather, and around heavy equipment.
