The EHS Manager will be the driving force in fostering an environment where safety, the well-being of our employees, and concern for the environment are at the core of every process, decision, and operation. This role will lead employees to comply with standards, ensuring that health and safety remain a priority throughout the Company. The EHS Manager will foster continuous safety improvements, develop proactive solutions to safety challenges, and lead by example in championing the safety culture. The role will be based in our East Berlin, CT location and lead all EHS activities at this location as well as our manufacturing facility in Lodi, NJ. Duties Lead a safety-first mindset across all departments, encouraging everyone in the organization to take ownership of safety. Lead by example and engage with teams at all levels to create a sustainable culture of safety and accountability. Educate employees to be more proactive in identifying hazards and risks through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on leadership. Design and implement EHS program initiatives that mitigate risk and empower employees to think critically about impacts on all stakeholders. Use data to drive decisions and identify trends. Regularly analyze incident reports, safety audits, and environmental metrics to discover insights, and collaborate with leadership to implement changes that elevate safety standards. Work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure that safety is integrated into every process, design, and production plan. Act as primary point of contact on all emergency response issues and OSHA related interactions. Evaluate, enhance, communicate and document all emergency response protocols, training, and prevention measures. Take ownership of behavioral safety programs, guiding the organization in addressing potential unsafe behaviors and developing actionable strategies to change mindsets and prevent incidents and accidents. Push for continuous improvement by always seeking new ways to elevate the safety culture. Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, safety technology, and best practices, and lead efforts to implement innovative solutions that set new benchmarks for safety excellence.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

At least 5-7 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment, with a proven track record of driving safety culture transformation.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office 365

Certifications & Licenses:

Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certifications are highly preferred.
