This is a hands-on leadership role for a professional who has successfully managed field service teams, service delivery, scheduling, dispatch, customer relationships, and operational performance. The Service Manager will be responsible for the daily execution of service operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction. This role combines office-based operational leadership with regular field engagement to support technicians, customers, and overall service quality. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who understands how to build high-performing teams, improve processes, drive accountability, and create an exceptional customer experience. What You Will OwnTeam Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of field technicians, inspectors, and service personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, ride-alongs, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Recruit, onboard, train, and retain top talent. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer support. Service Operations Oversee scheduling, dispatch, routing, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity. Monitor service requests, inspections, maintenance activities, and work orders to ensure timely completion. Manage service workflows from initial customer request through completion and invoicing. Ensure accurate documentation and effective utilization of service management systems and mobile technology. Continuously improve operational processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. Customer Experience Serve as a key point of contact for customers and help resolve escalated service issues. Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery. Ensure timely follow-up, accurate reporting, and professional field execution. Support customer retention and growth through service excellence. Financial & Operational Performance Monitor and improve key performance indicators including productivity, utilization, service completion rates, response times, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction. Manage departmental resources, inventory, equipment, and operating expenses. Partner with leadership and finance teams to review performance, identify opportunities, and implement improvements. Drive operational efficiency while maintaining service quality and safety standards. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication, scheduling, and field operations. Support implementation and adoption of operational systems, technology platforms, and reporting tools. Develop scalable processes that support future growth. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant leadership experience. Minimum 5 years of experience managing field service, operations, maintenance, inspection, installation, or service delivery teams. Experience leading technicians, service personnel, or field-based employees. Strong understanding of scheduling, dispatch, workforce planning, and operational performance management. Experience utilizing service management, work order, dispatch, or field service software platforms. Proven ability to manage performance metrics, budgets, and operational objectives. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed. Preferred Direct experience in commercial fire alarm and detection — fire alarm control panels, initiating and notification devices, voice evacuation, mass notification, smoke and heat detection. Familiarity with NFPA 72, the AHJ inspection process, and the inspection → deficiency → quote → repair workflow. Experience with major fire alarm manufacturer platforms (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Edwards/EST, Silent Knight, Gamewell-FCI, Mircom, Honeywell Fire-Lite). NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a plus but not required. South Florida market knowledge and existing relationships in the commercial property, GC, or facilities ecosystem.
