Overview We are urgently hiring a Safety Officer to join our underground construction team. In this critical role, you will lead site safety initiatives, conduct rigorous risk assessments, and ensure compliance across subterranean project sites. Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership:

Develop, implement, and oversee site-specific safety programs tailored for underground and trenching operations.

Compliance & Auditing:

Conduct site inspections to enforce compliance with PHMSA, OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and local regulatory standards.

Risk Mitigation:

Identify subterranean hazards, implement preventative controls, and direct corrective actions immediately.

Training & Incidents:

Lead daily safety briefings/toolbox talks and manage thorough incident investigations to prevent recurrence.

Collaboration:

Partner with site superintendents and project managers using safety tracking software to monitor safety metrics.

QualificationsPreferred Background:

Military Experience Highly Valued:

Veterans with backgrounds in Safety/EHS, Engineering, Operations, Combat Arms, or Logistics are strongly encouraged to apply.

Core Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in construction site safety management (underground, tunneling, or pipeline utility experience preferred). Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and PHMSA regulations. Clear, authoritative communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams under challenging conditions. Familiarity with safety compliance software and incident reporting processes.

Pay:

$25.76 - $31.02 per hour
