Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee our company's safety and regulatory compliance program. This position will be responsible for monitoring driver compliance, reviewing electronic logs and safety data, maintaining DOT-required records, and ensuring Show Freight Inc. remains compliant with applicable FMCSA, DOT, and state transportation regulations . The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of trucking safety regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), ELD requirements, driver qualification files, DOT compliance, and FMCSA regulations . Experience with Samsara or similar fleet management/ELD systems is highly preferred. This position requires someone who is comfortable holding drivers and management accountable, identifying compliance issues, documenting violations, and taking appropriate corrective or disciplinary action when necessary. Key Responsibilities Oversee the company's FMCSA and DOT safety and compliance program Monitor driver compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and applicable state regulations Monitor and review Samsara ELD logs and driver activity on a daily basis Identify HOS violations, log violations, missing logs, form-and-manner errors, and other compliance issues Follow up with drivers regarding violations and ensure issues are corrected promptly Monitor driver behavior, vehicle activity, speeding, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, seat belt usage, and other available Samsara safety data Review and address unsafe driving behaviors and trends Maintain accurate documentation of safety violations, coaching, corrective actions, and disciplinary actions Work directly with drivers regarding safety expectations and compliance requirements Issue or recommend appropriate disciplinary action for repeated or serious violations Conduct driver coaching and safety counseling when necessary Monitor driver qualification files and ensure required documentation remains current Assist with onboarding and qualification of new drivers Ensure required DOT documents, medical certifications, MVRs, annual reviews, and other compliance records are properly maintained Monitor drug and alcohol compliance requirements and coordinate required testing and documentation Maintain accurate driver and company safety records Prepare for and assist with

audits, inspections, and compliance reviews Monitor the company's FMCSA safety performance and identify areas requiring improvement Review roadside inspection reports and ensure violations are addressed Track accidents, incidents, and safety-related events and maintain appropriate documentation Assist with accident investigations and determine appropriate follow-up actions Work closely with management, dispatch, operations, and drivers to resolve compliance issues Develop and enforce company safety policies and procedures Conduct regular safety meetings, driver coaching, and compliance training Stay current on changes to FMCSA, DOT, and applicable state regulations Maintain organized and audit-ready compliance records Provide management with regular updates regarding driver safety and compliance Identify recurring compliance problems and recommend corrective measures Take immediate action when a driver or vehicle presents a significant safety or compliance concern Driver Compliance & Accountability The Safety & Compliance Manager will have an active role in maintaining driver accountability.
This includes:
Addressing HOS and ELD violations Documenting driver compliance issues Conducting coaching and corrective action Monitoring repeat violations Recommending or implementing disciplinary action in accordance with company policy Escalating serious or repeated safety violations to management Ensuring drivers understand company safety expectations and regulatory requirements Removing or recommending removal of drivers from service when circumstances require immediate safety intervention Qualifications Previous experience in

safety and compliance strongly preferred Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT requirements Working knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations Experience with ELD systems and electronic logging Samsara experience highly preferred Experience managing driver qualification files and DOT compliance records Knowledge of DOT drug and alcohol compliance requirements Experience with DOT audits, safety reviews, or roadside inspection compliance preferred Trucking, transportation, fleet, or logistics industry experience preferred Strong computer skills and ability to learn and manage compliance software Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills Strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with drivers and management Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive personnel information Ability to enforce policies consistently and professionally Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who understands that safety and compliance are not optional . You should be comfortable addressing difficult situations, holding drivers accountable, and having conversations about violations and corrective action. You must be able to balance regulatory compliance with practical trucking operations , while maintaining accurate documentation and treating drivers fairly and professionally.
