Safety Manager

Posted Yesterday Safety Manager (Construction) Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our construction safety program. The Safety Manager will establish and enforce safety policies, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, and deliver training to reduce incidents and protect personnel, assets, and project schedules. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive construction safety program and site-specific safety plans.

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, state and local regulations, and company policies across all projects.

Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits and hazard assessments; identify corrective actions and track remediation.

Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis, document findings and implement corrective/preventive measures.

Perform formal risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for high-risk activities and new scopes of work.

Design, deliver and track safety training programs (new hire, toolbox talks, task-specific training and certifications).

Manage subcontractor safety performance, pre-qualifications and safety coordination on multi-contractor sites.

Maintain safety records, prepare KPI and incident reports, and present findings to project leadership and stakeholders.

Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientation sessions and emergency response drills.

Drive continuous improvement by analyzing safety data, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to reduce incidents and improve safety culture. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction or heavy civil environments.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

Proven ability to perform risk assessments, safety audits and job hazard analyses.

Experience developing and delivering safety training and orientation programs.

Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to influence project teams and subcontractors.

Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as required.

Preferred certifications/skills: OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach (OSHA 30), OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent.

Experience with safety management systems, incident tracking software and Microsoft Office; familiarity with permits, confined space, fall protection, scaffolding and heavy equipment safety. Benefits PTO
