Up to $110,000/yr, BOE About the Opportunity A growing food manufacturing company in St. Clair County, Illinois is seeking an experienced Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer expectations while maintaining compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and SQF requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in food manufacturing, and a proven track record of implementing and managing food safety and quality systems. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all food safety and quality assurance programs throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and other applicable regulations and standards. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve quality management systems and food safety programs. Manage internal audits, customer audits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections. Investigate quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications. Review and approve quality documentation, reports, and product releases. Analyze quality metrics and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities. Lead, train, mentor, and develop quality assurance staff. Collaborate with Production, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Manage environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, allergen control, and supplier quality programs. Stay current on industry regulations, trends, and best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of food safety and quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Strong working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, FSMA, FDA, and USDA regulations. Experience preparing for and leading regulatory and third-party audits. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
