Job Description

Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) ManagerPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the SQF Practitioner responsible for the development, implementation, continuous improvement, and ongoing education of Food Safety & Quality and Regulatory Compliance programs.

Conduct self-audit activities to ensure company objectives for food safety and regulatory compliance meet or exceed applicable standards.

Lead the Food Safety Team, Quality Control personnel, and sanitation personnel.

Maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance, including label approvals and laboratory analysis demonstrating compliance.

Conduct annual system reviews of the SQF Food Safety Management System, Food Safety Plans, and Prerequisite Programs, including verification and validation activities.

Assist with the research, testing, verification, and validation of new products from bench-top development through production.

Stay current with FDA and USDA regulations and policies, SQF standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies, and provide recommendations to management.

Work closely with Plant Management on all Food Safety matters.

Oversee raw material and finished product laboratory analysis and manage associated corrective actions.

Track and trend product holds, customer complaints, inspections, testing results, swab data, and other quality-related information.

Facilitate internal, customer, and third-party audits and direct corrective actions.

Complete customer questionnaires and respond to quality-related customer inquiries.

Manage the approved supplier program.

Determine appropriate applications and methodologies for analytical, microbiological, and bacteriological testing protocols and implement and direct Quality Assurance activities accordingly.

Perform other special assignments as directed by upper management.

Preferred Training / CertificationsHACCP CertificationPCQI CertificationSQF TrainingInternal Auditing TrainingBachelor's Degree preferredRequired QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in a continuous-process manufacturing environment, preferably within the food industry.

Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.

Experience with SQF systems and food safety programs preferred.

SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database programs.

Ability to type approximately 75 words per minute.

Strong facilitation and team-building skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and ongoing tasks effectively.

Physical DemandsFrequently work on a computer.

Frequently walk throughout the plant floor.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary:
$95,000 - $105,000 per yearBenefits include:401(k)401(k) matchingHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time off
Additional Position DetailsBonus:
This position is not eligible for a bonus.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Vacation:
Vacation entitlement is 2 weeks, including for employees with 15 years of service.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.
Work Location:
In person at the Dupo, Illinois facility.
