Posted Yesterday Safety Compliance Manager Position Overview

The Safety Compliance Manager leads development and execution of company-wide safety and health programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and promote a strong safety culture. This role partners with operations and leadership to identify and mitigate hazards, manage Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) exposure, apply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles, and drive continuous improvement in risk management and health programs. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health management systems to meet regulatory and company standards.

Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities with emphasis on SIF prevention and reduction.

Apply HOP principles to incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action design.

Manage compliance audits, inspections, and reporting to regulators and senior leadership.

Develop and deliver training on safety practices, emergency response, and health management for staff at all levels.

Collaborate with operations to integrate safety into project planning, change management, and contractor management.

Track safety performance metrics, prepare regular reports, and use data to drive targeted improvement initiatives.

Support return-to-work, occupational health programs, and coordination with medical providers and insurance as needed.

Coach and mentor site safety personnel and promote a positive, proactive safety culture across the organization. Qualifications Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred or other relevant safety certification (e.g., ASP, NEBOSH).

Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in safety management, including direct experience with SIF prevention and risk reduction programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles and experience applying them to investigations and process improvements.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable local, state, and federal safety and health requirements.

Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action management.

Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Proven ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and drive improvements through metrics and performance tracking.

Experience managing occupational health programs and coordinating with healthcare providers and insurance carriers. Benefits Union Pension Plan (per collective bargaining agreement)
