About the Role Gully Transportation is hiring a Director of Safety to lead our safety and training programs. This person sets the direction for safety across our terminals, drivers, and operations staff, and works closely with leadership to keep our people, equipment, and the public safe. If you know DOT regulations inside and out, have real experience in trucking, and can lead and train others, we want to talk to you. Please read the duties and requirements carefully before applying. Must Have You must live within 30 minutes of Quincy, IL, or be willing to relocate (relocation candidates are welcome to apply) You must hold a CDL-A, or be willing to get it back if it has lapsed Transportation industry experience Preferred Certified Director of Safety (CDS) designation What You'll Do Lead the development and rollout of company safety policies and procedures with the management team Keep the company in compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations Monitor

scores, spot trends, and take action to improve performance Review accident and incident reports and make sure preventable accidents are handled with proper accountability Train all levels of the organization on accident investigation Run safety inspections and audits to check compliance Stop any operation or activity that puts employees or equipment at risk Find ways to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems Deliver a thorough and accurate monthly safety report with key metrics Support the safety committee with technical and administrative help Oversee employee safety training, and review and update training materials as needed Teach and support our weekly driver orientation Support our CDL training program and school, including road tests and driver training Work with CDL students to make sure they meet the minimum requirements for a driving position Plan and run safety meetings, accident review meetings, and safety celebrations What You Bring Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service Solid understanding of OSHA standards Experience conducting training Clear written and verbal communication Strong organization and attention to detail The ability to lead and influence people across the company A track record of coaching and developing others The ability to work well with people who have different views and goals Comfort analyzing risk trends and turning them into solutions Understanding of operations and safety performance metrics Experience with Microsoft Office and trucking industry software Working knowledge of performance management and monitoring systems Job Details Job type: Full-time Work location: In person, Quincy, IL (not remote)
