An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for directing the strategic approach to managing the environmental impact of an organization on the surrounding area. Responsible for ensuring that the organization has a systematic approach to complying with environmental regulations, such as managing waste or air emissions. Will liaise with directors of other sections of the organization to ensure that strategic goals align with those of the environmental health and safety team.

Verdant Specialty Solutions is looking for an experienced Corporate HSE Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas or University Park, Illinois. Reporting to the Vice President, Manufacturing, you'll lead Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental programs across multiple manufacturing locations and partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and business leaders to strengthen our HSE culture, reduce operational risk, and drive continuous improvement. What You'll Own HSE programs across multiple manufacturing locations, including company standards, regulatory compliance, audits, metrics, and continuous improvement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, Mechanical Integrity, and PSSR Environmental compliance, including permitting, emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, chemical reporting, and spill prevention Regulatory inspections, audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs Enterprise safety initiatives, emergency response programs, and strategies that strengthen safety culture and operational ownership Integration of HSE requirements into capital projects, facility changes, acquisitions, and operational improvement initiatives HSE performance reporting and recommendations to executive leadership What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline 5+ years of progressive HSE experience in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or another regulated industrial environment 3+ years of leadership experience supporting HSE programs across multiple manufacturing locations Strong experience with PSM and environmental compliance programs Demonstrated knowledge of applicable health, safety, environmental, and process safety regulations Experience leading regulatory inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions Strong ability to influence and partner with Operations, Engineering, plant leadership, and other cross-functional teams CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE, CSHM, or other relevant professional certification preferred Ability to travel domestically and internationally Why Verdant?
