Job Description

Job Overview G&L Corporation is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Director to lead and manage all aspects of the company's safety program across field operations, shop activities, and project sites. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures that protect employees, clients, and the public while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and industry regulations. The Safety Director works closely with leadership, project managers, field supervision, and shop personnel to promote a culture where safety is embedded in every operation. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety programs and policies. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. Conduct job site visits, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and enforce safety standards. Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions. Maintain required safety documentation, logs, training records, and compliance reporting. Coordinate and deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks for field and shop personnel. Work with project managers and field leadership to plan safe execution strategies for complex operations. Monitor and manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related client requirements and prequalification processes. Review and update safety manuals, policies, and emergency response procedures as needed. Provide guidance to leadership on regulatory changes and risk management strategies. Qualifications Proven experience managing safety programs in industrial, construction, heavy haul, or related environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT compliance, and industry best practices. Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, and corrective action planning. Ability to lead safety training and effectively communicate expectations to field personnel. Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working across field operations, shop environments, and management teams. Valid driver's license required. Relevant certifications (OSHA 510/500, 30, CHST, CSP, or equivalent) preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in safety management or related field preferred. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
