Status:
Exempt Summary Performs safety and health activities in industrial plants or at environmental sites to evaluate and control environmental hazards by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Perform risk analysis of each job task. Understand and implement OSHA and EPA rules and regulations. Regulatory compliance reports for OSHA and EPA. Hazard recognition - Identify conditions or actions that may lead to potential injury, illness or property damage. Create and maintain safety and health programs, i.e. Hazard Communication, Confined Space, and Lock-out/Tag-out. Administers sound level testing, as well as analyze the data according to OSHA's requirements. Audits, inspects machines, and practice management system. Determine the need for PPE and ensure TMs have the proper PPE for the work area. Comprehension and knowledge of
SWPPP:
sampling and reporting. Responsible for Emergency Response training and coordination, i.e. medical, fire, etc. Correspond with Emergency Response personnel for emergency spill clean-up. Communicate all safety related rules and regulations to TMs. Responsible for maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) program, review chemicals before arriving on-site. Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal. Lead safety incident investigation team to determine root cause and develop counter measures. Identifies potential causes for accidents and recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness. Responsible for environmental sustainability and supporting Tsuda's Environmental Policy. Create and maintain Emergency Action plan. Develop a root cause and prevention safety program. Coordinate safety training for all new employees, as well as conducting on-going annual training. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises one (1) employee in Environmental Health and Safety Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
