We are looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Assistant Manager to join our food manufacturing team. This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and consistent production standards throughout our facility. The Quality Assistant Manager will work closely with Production, Sanitation, and Quality teams while helping lead day-to-day quality activities on the plant floor. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and holding teams accountable to established standards. Hours are flexible. Responsibilities Assist the Quality and Food Safety Manager with daily Quality Assurance and Food Safety operations. Supervise and support Quality Technicians and other quality personnel. Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality and food safety specifications. Review and verify production, quality, and food safety records. Conduct and/or oversee product inspections, testing, and quality checks. Monitor critical control points and preventive controls as required. Assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Work with Production to identify the root cause of quality problems and implement solutions. Ensure employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, and company policies. Assist with employee training related to quality, food safety, GMPs, and sanitation. Help prepare for customer, regulatory, and third-party audits. Maintain accurate quality documentation and records. Communicate quality concerns promptly to management and production leadership. Assist with environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, allergen controls, and other food safety programs as applicable. Help promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the plant. The ideal candidate is someone who can lead by example, communicate effectively with employees and supervisors, and isn't afraid to get onto the plant floor to identify and solve problems. You should be comfortable asking questions, investigating issues, documenting findings, and following through to make sure corrective actions are completed.
