Safety Manager, Trucking
Job Description
Taz Trucking, Inc. is looking for an experienced hands-on trucking safety compliance manager to join our family-owned and operated trucking company. This professional will work hand in hand with our safety compliance clerk/admin; as a team, they will work with other departments and 100+ drivers. The manager of this office will closely monitor daily safety performance as well as coach, counsel, discipline, and educate or retrain drivers as needed to improve and maintain good safety scores. Thorough, working knowledge and proven ability to interpret and apply industry regulations. Must be able to develop a rapport with drivers, maintain a high level of professionalism, and operate with a high degree of organization and multi-tasking. Good computer skills are a must. This manager will investigate accidents, interacting with officials, insurance companies, and claims agents. The manager will work diligently to prevent accidents, adhere to trucking industry regulations, and create a high level of safety to protect drivers and the public as well as company assets. Summary

regulations compliance DOT drug and alcohol testing program Driver qualification files and driver/fleet compliance HOS Accident prevention Responsiveness to accidents; cause analysis, investigations, case management Communication/collaboration with drivers and other departments Work closely with Operations, HR/Recruiting, and Shop as well as with owners; daily collaboration across functions and timely responses are critical Corrective actions with drivers; remedial training; progressive discipline Samsara and other driver apps Reporting to owners The Ideal Candidate Good working knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations High level accuracy and organization Outstanding attention to detail and observation abilities Self-starter and the ability to multi-task Work to a consistent quality and high ethical standard Good computer skills and a positive attitude Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate others to achieve company standards Great team player Minimum 4 years in transportation safety compliance position preferred, including a minimum 2 years in management/supervisory role within safety/compliance preferably in trucking Minimum 2 years direct work experience withFMCSA/DOT
