Job Description
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Safety Manager role based in Metairie, LA. The Safety Manager will develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting regular site inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining accurate safety records and reports. The role will lead safety meetings, coordinate and deliver safety training, and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization. The Safety Manager will investigate incidents and near misses, analyze root causes, and work with operational teams to prevent recurrence and improve overall safety performance. Qualifications 3-5+ years of safety experience Strong background in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, with demonstrated experience managing workplace safety programs. Proficiency in Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) practices, including developing and delivering training materials. Hands-on experience with Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA). Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach others at all organizational levels. Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work on-site in Metairie, LA, including visiting field or facility locations as needed. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience - preferred but not required. Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, OHST) are preferred but not required. Maritime, Coal Mining, or TIC industry experience strongly preferred
